Pleasantly surprised

I bought the journal because a friend said it was wonderful. I was skeptical b/c I have been on this journey of self discovery for over 30 years, I am a bit snobby as far as guided journals go - WOW, was I surprised! I started writing in it - got a bit stuck - easy for me to see "my part" yada yada yada, but then I watched a podcast & Aisha shared some of her moments that really were not related to family of origin issues. Well, I called my mom and she shined a light on some things that happened to me at a particular apartment complex. The fear, the anxiety at 3 years old b/c I was left alone by the older kids on a staircase at night. WOW!!! Of course, mom came running when I screamed & cried - but that is a nugget that has eluded me for many years. I will be more vigilant on my self discovery journey and a little less snobby. LOL Thank you Butterfly SZN!
